Nil by Mouth footage analysis

leave a comment »

I found an interesting piece of footage from the film Nil by Mouth. And made a diagram, based on the charts made by Eisenstein in the past.

The diagram describes the flow of camera movement and edit mixed with sound and lighting in a graphical manor. This way I can analyze footage in a more in depth fashion.

PHOTOGRAPHY IN MOTION: Stop Motion and Timelapse

leave a comment »

There is a very thin line between photography and motion. Basically various images put together in a sequence create a moving image piece. In this case I will analyse stop motion and timelapse photography.

STOP MOTION

It is a type of animation that creates motion through images. Like any other type of animation the animator will have to move the characters to achieve motion. Each movement depends on how many pictures have been taken in terms of fluid animation. The more pictures taken for each movement the better quality movement the animator will achieve for the animation. In this case frames per second.

TIMELAPSE

Timelapse photography could be considered a type of filming or recording a very long process. It creates a series of images that come together in a final video. What this allows is to record during a long period of time through a series of pictures usually scenic landscapes. The results are usually amazing because they produce a type of video that is not as common as the day to day format.
